Our Mission
The community of St Barnabas aspires to:
- be a vibrant, caring, prayerful community, dependent on God, growing in faith and vision, alive in the Holy Spirit.
- be people who actively carry the good news of Jesus to the world through deliberate outreach strategies.
- provide a safe place of worship and fellowship, and to give care, support and encouragement to all who come, in an environment where people can encounter Jesus and be nurtured in their faith.
- prayerfully and caringly fulfil our Diocesan Safe Ministries policies and procedures which can be viewed at anglicancg.org.au/safe-ministries/
Parish Vision
Walking together with Jesus to take his life into the world.
Influencing Scripture
That we may know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings. (Philippians 3:10).
Parish Prayer
Grant, Lord that we who receive the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ,
May be the means by which the work of his incarnation shall go forward,
Take, consecrate, break, distribute us,
To be for others a means of your grace, and vehicles of your eternal love.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
St Barnabas is a community of people who are walking the talk when it comes to sharing God’s love. Jesus is alive in the way people care for one another and reach out to the community.
Safe Ministries Review
Following a resolution passed by Bishop-in-Council, a review of Professional Standards and Safe Ministry in the Diocese is shortly to begin. To facilitate this review, the Diocese is seeking both people willing to join a taskforce to undertake this task, and a working group to consider Safe Ministry operations. There is also a form for those who would like to be consulted during the review process.
