St Barnabas is a place of friendship, learning, sharing, and worship
In the book of Acts in the new testament of the Bible records Barnabas, as a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, is remembered for his life of faith and his good works of service and generosity. This is the culture of Saint Barnabas at Charnwood, carrying this philosophy and heart today in how we serve others.
Service Times
St Barnabas is open for public worship, Sundays 8:30am.
The people of St Barnabas have met for worship since 16th September 1979 where they first met at the Fraser Primary School. As the congregation was established, a more attractive and centrally sited place became available at the Charnwood High School.
Eventually this also proved inadequate and when the congregation of St Thomas Aquinas built their church, the opportunity arose to meet in their spacious primary school hall.
Another move saw the congregation meeting in Cooinda Cottage, until the congregation finally moved to it’s current place of worship in Charnwood.
