To celebrate this sacred season we will hold the following services:
Maundy Thursday – 28th March
6pm: Last Supper Service, St Paul’s Ginninderra
This year we have been invited to join with our brothers and sisters at St Paul’s to share the experience of Christ’s Last Supper. Please RSVP to [email protected] by the 26th March.
Good Friday – 29th March
9am: St Barnabas
Good Friday is celebrated to honour Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and remember the events leading up to his crucifixion and death. It is a solemn day of remembrance and reflection, and Christians worldwide observe it by attending church services, fasting, praying, and reflecting on the meaning of Christ’s sacrifice.
Good Friday – 29th March
11am: Stations of the Cross, Hall
We will join members of the other churches of Hall and community members to walk the length of Victoria Street, marking the Stations of the Cross. Should inclement weather cause the walk to be cancelled advice will be given as early as possible. This Good Friday walk has been held for many years and is organised jointly by the clergy and lay people of the Roman Catholic, Uniting and Anglican churches in Hall. Members of all churches as well as community members not necessarily connected with any church are welcome to attend, and numbers have been increasing each year. The walk will start at 11 am at the northern end of Victoria Street – at the Barton Highway intersection – and finishes at the Remembrance Grove on the corner of Victoria and Gladstone Streets, although walkers may join at any point.
Easter Day – 31 March
9am: St Barnabas
11am: St Michael’s
The true meaning of Easter is about the love Jesus has for us and the purpose he gives us.
Jesus died on the Cross and rose back to life so everyone can have a meaningful relationship with God the Father – the Creator of the Universe. Because of Jesus’ victory over death by coming back to life, we too can experience a new, everlasting life.
