The Sixth Sunday After Pentecost
(Readings: Genesis 25.19-34; Psalm 119.105-112; Romans 8.1-11; Matthew 13.1-23)
This Sunday we will consider together Jesus well known parable of ‘The Sower’.
Here we are invited to consider the purpose of the parables and are offered insight into the different responses to Jesus stories. Some refuse to hear. Some put down no roots. Some are distracted by the world around them. Others produce a crop.
And yet, Jesus continues to lavishly sow seed in each of these different places. It would seem that even in the sharing of the Word God is staggeringly gracious!
Our senior priest, Reverend Mark Beresford, will be our preacher today.
Today Holy Communion will be offered at both St Barnabas (9:00am) and at St Michael’s (11:00am). All Are welcome!
