The Second Sunday of Advent
Readings: Isaiah 40.1-11; Psalm 85.1-2, 8-13; 2 Peter 3.8-15a; Mark 1.1-8
Today we come to the Second Sunday of Advent and celebrate the coming of ‘peace’ through the person of Jesus. This is a peace that the cross invites us to. It is a peace between people and God. It is a peace between people and people. This is beautifully celebrated in our services each week as we move through the confession of our sins, the accepting of forgiveness, and then to the ‘greeting of peace’. We celebrate each week the peace Jesus won for us with God and each other!
Truly the coming of Christ is an event that changes everything!
Allure welcome to celebrate Holy Communion with us at either St Barnabas, Charnwood (9:00) or at St Michael’s, Hall (11:00am).
