‘Christ is Risen!’
This ancient church claim sums up our celebration today. God has acted to reverse the hold of death. In Jesus, death is not an end. It has become a beginning. Jesus, the ultimate re-creator.
Easter Sunday, however, does not only invite this declaration. It also invites our response: ‘He is Risen Indeed!’
Here is a statement of faith. It is our promise of trust. Not only has God acted in the resurrection but we have also come to participate in this action. By faith, we are a part of God’s plan. Like the first disciples, we have come to believe in the resurrected Christ.
So you are welcome to gather with us today to declare anew the wonder-filled cry of the church: Christ is Risen!: He is Risen Indeed!
Our service at St Barnabas will begin at 9:00am and our service at St Michael’s at 11:00am. Please join us!
