This year’s Lenten Study will follow the recently released DVD series ‘Australians Together: Sharing our story’.
‘Australians Together’ explores the shared history of indigenous and non-indigenous people through four key eras of our nation’s history. The series is put together by the Australian church and made with the church in mind. Each of the four episodes includes a Bible study led by an Australian church minister.
We will show one episode after our usual church services each week for four weeks during lent. The first gathering will be on the Second Sunday in Lent (Sunday, March 12).
Each week both church centres will enjoy their morning tea after worship, as we usually do, and then show the episode and engage in discussion. Each session will go for no more than one hour. The dates will be: Sunday, March 12; Sunday, March 19; Sunday March 26; and Sunday April 2. Bob Slockee, a young indigenous minister employed by the diocese will be our preacher on Palm Sunday (April 9).
Please put aside all this time if you are able!
If, however, you are unable to come to these sessions, the DVD series is available at www.australianstogether.org.au. There you are able to watch and consider each episode at your leisure.
